Physical Description
a. Child's dress of fine blue handkerchief linen, entirely hand sewn. The short puff sleeves have narrow binding and are gathered with small smocked panels. Similar smocking forms gathers front and back. The neck and back opening have narrow binding and the back opening is fastened with tiny buttons and buttonholed loops. The front yoke and the front and back are embellished with drawn thread work and garlands of flowers in pinks and green. The hem has drawn hemstitching. b. A matching bonnet has a 9cm-wide brim stiffened with what appears to be fishing line, The scalloped edge is finished with tiny picots formed from the fabric. The two long ties have a similar finish. The body of the bonnet, with drawn thread work and a garland of buttonhole flowers in pinks and greens and eyelets, is gathered in to a round panel at the back.
