Physical Description
Unlined black silk embroidered jacket from Hong Kong. Jacket has mandarin collar. Closure consists of five sets of loops, two of which are on the collar. A pair of narrow floating 'ties' are attached under the bust. Large asymmetric flower design on back of jacket. No shoulder seams. The construction is from two pieces of fabric plus the collar. Has side seam and one back seam. The mandarin collar has a facing. The embroidery is worked in soft shades of pale blue, apricot, lavender and greens. Stitches include long and short, satin, stem, couching and Chinese knots. The embroidery was done prior to construction.
